Scholarship Fund for Sep
11th 2001 Tragedy
You are all
aware that the national tragedy, which occurred on September
11, 2001, has dramatically affected the lives of many millions
of Americans. Many U.S. citizens are now out of work,
the economy is faltering and the fear and panic, which has
gripped the nation, limits the ability for a quick turnaround
of the situation. However, none are more affected than
the thousands of families who have lost loved ones including
spouses, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and close
relatives. Please keep all of these people in your
prayers.
One
of the true sings of the American Spirit was the selfless and
courageous work of the New York City police and firefighters
who thought only of helping and saving other Americans even at
the risk of their own lives. To add the great tragedy,
hundreds of these brave men and women lost their lives in the
attempt to help others. They have also left behind
spouses and children who now face an uncertain future because
of the loss of family income.
Of
course, many people throughout the country have rushed to the
aid of these individuals. Contributions are being made
to a number of funds. Americans from all over the
country have traveled to New York City to aid in the disaster
relief. As a responsible corporate citizen, we too have
tried to be of assistance. We were fortunate to be able
to provide food and water to the thousands of people who had
to endure days of standing in line to register missing loved
ones. This was a very small but important contribution
and we are proud to have been able to demonstrate our sprit
and concern for our fellow man and citizen.
We
have provided
additional help especially for the children of the fallen
policemen, policewomen and
firefighters. We established a scholarship fund
for their children in order to ensure that their future
education needs are satisfied.We have donated to New York City
Fund and American Red Cross with specific designation of our
donation towards scholarship.
We
ask for your support in this effort. We ask that you
join us in seeking additional ways to act as caring and
responsible citizens. And, most importantly, we ask for
your prayers during this time of tragedy and crisis. As
Americans and citizens of a truly great nation, we can
overcome any obstacle with our spirit, faith, determination
and trust in God.
